Building Description and Use:
The Technical Vocational Building 10 of Lee College is a one story, 9,954 square foot structure constructed in the early 1940’s. The building houses several classrooms and shops. This building is on the fringe of the main campus and has it’s own electric meter. The building is used only as a post-secondary (college) school.

Building Energy Use Characteristics:
The building uses electricity for lighting, cooling, heating and air circulation, and general equipment, including welders and other piping related equipment.

Structural Characteristics:
This facility consists of one level. No basement.

The structural system consists of reinforced concrete footings and foundation walls supporting the structure.

The floor structure is reinforced concrete slab on grade. Floor covering consists of V.A. tile, carpet, and exposed structure. Floor covering is substandard and needs replacement.

Partitions are standard for the design and occupancy for which the building was intended. They consist of stud and gypsum board, stud and plaster with cork insulation, glass in steel frame, and reinforced concrete.

Ceilings consist of plaster and paint, suspended system, and acoustical tile. Acoustical tile needs replacement throughout the building.

The exterior walls are basically poured concrete with areas of masonry block. Walls are painted.

The roof structure consists of concrete columns supporting a steel frame and wood joists and wood plank deck. Roof cover is tar and gravel. Roof replacement planned for 1995-96 budget.

Adequate plumbing for facility. HVAC consists of a self-contained system. Some ducting to facility offices is inadequate.

Adequate electric for facility.

Condition: Good. Building renovated in 1990 and 1991. New air conditioner installed during Fall 1991.  Classrooms themselves meet college standards. New parking lot fencing and outside concrete pad added in 1994.  Exterior painting completed in 1994. Interior renovations including floor and ceiling tile were completed in 1994-95. Windows were replaced with glass blocks, also in 1994-95. Roof was repaired in 1995-96.

Occupancy: Technical/Vocational Shops and Classrooms.

Estimated Replacement Cost: $970,000.00
