Building Description and Use:
The Technical Vocational Building 8 of Lee College is a one story, 3,358 square foot structure constructed in 1974.  The building houses three classrooms with no administrative areas. This building is on a campus with 36 other buildings, sharing the same electric and gas meters. The building is used only as post-secondary (college) school.

Building Energy Use Characteristics:
The building uses electricity for lighting, cooling, air and chilling/heating water circulation, and general equipment.  Domestic hot water is provided by individual hot water heaters. The building uses packaged rooftop DX units to provide cooling and heating.

Structural Characteristics:
This facility consists of one level. No basement.

The structural system consists of reinforced concrete footings and foundation walls supporting the pre-engineered steel frame structure.

The floor structure is reinforced concrete slab on grade. Floor covering consists of V.A. tile, vinyl tile, and carpet.

Partitions are standard for the design and occupancy for which the building was intended. They consist of stud wood panel.

Ceilings consist of suspended system.

The exterior walls are basically prefinished metal panel with select areas of brick veneer and glass curtain wall.

The roof structure is pre-engineered with prefinished metal panel cover.

Adequate plumbing for facility. Self contained heating and cooling system.

Adequate electric for facility.

Condition: Fair to good. Building was weatherproofed in 1996-97. Rusted sheet metal was repaired. Student lab area was totally renovated in 1992-93. Biggest short falls to this facility are lack of parking and incompatible siting with surrounding facilities.

Occupancy: Technical/Vocational Area (Cosmetology).

Estimated Replacement Cost: $326,000.00
