Come see what Lee College has to offer to prepare you to practice as a registered nurse. In Texas registered nurses have a starting salary of $42,620 with 138,000 projected jobs in the Gulf Coast area by 2010. Job opportunities include hospitals, clinics, home health care facilities, long-term care facilities, industry and specialty health care hospital units. Upon successful completion of the Generic Program an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is awarded. Graduates are qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. The generic program can be completed in two years (six semesters), but most students take three years to complete the program. If you are a licensed vocational nurse, work experience and required academic courses will be credited for the Transitional Entry Program. The transitional program can be completed in three clinical semesters. Students who wish to transfer any nursing courses must make an appointment with the ADN program director (281-425-6448). |
