Julisa Ocasio, a resident of Puerto Rico, returns for her sophomore season in Baytown as a 5’4” setter. She started every game in the 2008 campaign and finished the season with 893 assists, a 35% assist percentage, 381 digs and a .309 hitting efficiency. An intelligent floor leader, Julisa was named to the All Conference and All Region XIV teams in 2008. She also garnered the Conference and Region XIV Co-Setter of the Year Award. Julisa displayed her intelligence in the classroom as well, earning an overall GPA of 4.0 and receiving the Class Act Award for her academic excellence.“I have had seen some excellent setters at Lee College in my career, and Julisa is at the top of the list. Her court awareness is remarkable and he
runs the offense to perfection. Julisa is a tough competitor and a remarkable athlete and person. I am expecting even greater things out of her in 2009,” said Coach Johnson.
