Christina Jacinto, a sophomore defensive specialist, should receive plenty of court time in 2009 as she is anticipated to be a leader on the back row defense. Primarily contributing in 2008 as a defensive specialist, Christina finished the season with 200 digs and 15 service aces. She also had the second highest serve-receive percentage on the team at 92%. With a GPA in her freshman season of 3.51, Christina earned the Class Act Award for academic excellence. “Christina had to
play last season behind one of the best liberos we have had at Lee College in years, but that doesn’t taken anything away from her own ability to compete at a high skill level. She is a talented leader on defense and will receive her time in the
spotlight this season. I am confident she will step up her game even higher than last season and help put the team over the top,” stated Coach Johnson.
