Register now for senior bus trips

Seniors who want to explore the area while connecting with friends can register for a wide array of bus trips. The day-long excursions are being offered this summer by the Lee College Senior Adult and Travel Program.

Bus trip registration opens at 8 a.m. at 909 Decker Drive and can also be completed over the phone by calling 281.425.6311.  The trips have varying fees and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with all others put on to a waiting list and notified if a cancellation occurs.

Scheduled destinations and activities for the college’s summer bus trip season include:

Resale 101 – Tuesday, May 6 – $10
Shop for bargains and treasures in the heart of Houston at various consignment shops

Weather Museum and IMAX Tour – Tuesday, June 3 – $17
Lunch, viewing of an afternoon IMAX production and a guided, one-hour tour of the nation’s first weather museum, located in Houston

George Bush Presidential Library and Texas A&M University – Tuesday, June 10 – $25
All-day trip to College Station for tours of Texas A&M and the Bush Library

Annual Garden Party – Thursday, June 26 – Free
Presented by Precint2gether at Leon Grayson Community Center with garden contests, music, door prizes and lunch

Christmas in July – Friday, July 11 – $5
Start Christmas shopping early with crafts, vendors and a special event in Clear Lake, followed by lunch at the Kemah Boardwalk

Ladies Lunch and Movie – Thursday, July 17 – Free
Spend the morning at the Flukinger Community Center for a special movie and complimentary lunch with a surprise stop along the way

Hilltop Restaurant and Herb Farm Tour – Tuesday, July 29 – $30
Enjoy a day in the country with a tour of the herb garden, a tasting of specialty products and a plated 4-course luncheon that features lake-view seating

Mystery Trip – Tuesday, Aug. 5 – $34
Wear comfortable walking shoes and journey to a secret destination for lunch and tours

Painted Churches Tour in Schulenberg – Wednesday, Aug. 13 – $17
The return of a sold-out favorite from the spring trip season, featuring lunch and tours of several ornate churches in the Texas Hill Country

Danevang Texas Heritage Museum, Preservation Society and Churches – Wednesday, Aug. 20 – $35
One of the most popular trips, with tours and a Danish plated luncheon

Mystery Trip – Friday, Sept. 5 – $34
Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat and slather on the sunscreen for an adventure to a secret, never-before-visited destination for lunch and tours
