The Lee College Center for Workforce and Community Development will be an exhibitor next week at the 30th annual International Society of Automation (ISA) Instrumentation Tradeshow in Pasadena, a popular and well-attended event hosted by the society’s Texas Channel section.
The tradeshow will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at the Pasadena Convention Center. Lee College workforce representatives will provide visitors with information on classes now being offered through the FOUNDATION Fieldbus Center. They will also have details about fieldbus staff, instructors and registration opportunities.
The Center for Workforce and Community Development at Lee is home to several FOUNDATION Fieldbus-certified training programs that teach students how to build and configure fieldbus segments and devices, which are used in manufacturing industries from petrochemical to pharmaceutical. The on-campus fieldbus center is one of only eight certified training sites in the world, boasting a multimillion-dollar pilot plant and several state-of-the-art micro-plants.
The workforce center also offers non-credit courses spanning a wide range of subjects. These include industrial training that prepares students for high-demand jobs in the petrochemical trade; courses in commercial and industrial construction that are certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research; and logistics, warehouse and distribution classes that are offered in association with the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council.
