Course Title: Introduction to Haircutting and Related Theory

Course Rationale:

Introduce the student to the correct terminology, haircutting and styling skills, necessary to complete solid, graduated, increase-layered and uniformly layered haircuts.

Learning Objectives:

Identify terminology and exhibit basic workplace competencies related to haircutting and finishing techniques. Demonstrate use of implements and various sectioning, haircutting, and finishing skills.

Specific Tasks Accomplished:

  1. Perform the four basic hair sculpture (haircutting) forms of haircutting including variations of each.
  2. Perform styling procedures appropriate for each haircut performed, including air forming and diffusing, blow drying, and curling iron procedures
