Course Title: Principles of Skin Care
Course Rationale:
Introduce the student to entry level facial procedures, to include cleansing
techniques, facial manipulations, and proper product selections according to
skin type.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the terminology related to the skin treatments; demonstrate the
proper application and exhibit workplace competencies in skin care.
Specific Tasks Accomplished:
- Perform hair removal techniques to include waxing, tweezing and shaving.
- Perform brow and eyelash tinting techniques
- Perform basic and spa facial treatments
- Demonstrate knowledge in basic image consultation, and color selection
for make-up and wardrobe.
- Use the Woods Lamp in determining skin type
- Properly apply make up to correspond with skin tones, types and facial
shapes
- Introduce basic image consultation and color selection for make-up and
wardrobe.
- Exhibit all safety and sanitation precautions as set forth by the Texas
Cosmetology Commission
