Course Title: Bankruptcy
Course Rationale:
Bankruptcy is an area of law practice in which an attorney may delegate a
great deal of responsibility to a paralegal.
Learning Objectives:
Define and properly use the terminology related to bankruptcy law; locate,
describe, and analyze sources of law relating to bankruptcy; describe the role
and ethical obligations of the paralegal in bankruptcy law; and draft documents
commonly used in bankruptcy law. Understand legal terminology and concepts relating to bankruptcy law and
procedure.
Specific Tasks Accomplished:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to accomplish the
following tasks:
- Define and properly use terminology related to bankruptcy law.
- Locate, describe, and analyze sources of law relating to bankruptcy.
- Describe the role and ethical obligations of the paralegal in bankruptcy
law.
- Draft documents commonly used in bankruptcy law.
