Course Title: Business Organizations
Course Rationale:
Knowledge of different types of business organizations is important to
several areas of law, including litigation, torts, contracts, and wills and
probate.
Learning Objectives:
Define and properly use terminology relating to business organizations; locate,
describe, and analyze sources of law relating to business organizations; describe the
role and ethical obligations of the paralegal relating to the formation,
operation, and termination of the various business entities; describe the
formation, operation, and termination of business entities; and draft
documents required for the formation, operation, and termination of business
entities.
Specific Tasks Accomplished:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to accomplish the
following tasks:
- Define and properly use legal terminology relating to business
organizations.
- Locate, describe, and analyze, sources of law relating to business
organizations.
- Describe the ethical obligations of the paralegal relating to the
formation, operation, and termination of the various business entities.
- Describe the formation, operation, and termination of the various
business entities.
- Draft documents required for the formation, operation, and termination
of business entities.
