Math Course Options

Types of Math Courses

Developmental Math Courses: Courses designed to prepare students for college-level coursework. These courses cannot be applied to certificates or degrees at Lee College or transferred to universities.

Credit Math Courses: Students receive 3 or 4 credit hours at the successful completion of the course towards a college degree or certificate. Credits earned at Lee College can transfer to another college or university. It is important to refer to the receiving institution’s requirements when choosing a math path or course.

Delivery Format

Face-2-Face: Conventional course format where students and instructors meet in an assigned campus location and follow a traditional classroom curriculum.

Hybrid/Blended: A course in which a majority (more than 50 percent but less than 85 percent) of the planned instruction occurs when the student(s) and the instructor(s) are not in the same place.

Fully Distance Education Course: A course with mandatory face-to-face sessions totaling no more than 15 percent of the instructional time. Examples of face-to-face sessions include orientation, laboratory, exam review, or in-person test.

Course Length and Description

Fall and Spring Semesters

  • 16 week: Traditional 16-week semester course that meets twice a week.
  • 12 week: Late start courses begin in Week 4 of the semester and end in Week 15. They meet twice a week for a more extended period of time.
  • 8 week: Fast track courses meet four times a week. This track allows a student to complete a course in 8 weeks, rather than the traditional 16-week format. It also allows students to complete two courses in one semester.
  • 3 week: Bridge course meets four times a week. This is an accelerated and focused learning opportunity.

Summer I, II

  • 10 week: An extended summer course with formats varying by instructor.
  • 5 week: Traditional fast-paced summer course that meets four times a week.
  • 3 week: Bridge course meets four times a week. This is an accelerated and focused learning opportunity.
