Orientation

Orientation is designed to give students vital information that will help them to make the transition to college.   Topics include:

  • The admissions process
  • Reading the College Catalog
  • Choosing a career and choosing your classes
  • Applying for financial aid
  • The registration process
  • Tips for student success
  • Resources on Campus
  • State requirements regarding the Texas Success Initiative
  • And much more!

Each semester, students who are "first time" college students and who plan on enrolling in three or more classes are required to attend an orientation.

Dates for orientation will be published each semester in the class schedule. A "special" Saturday session each July features additional information on the college, tours, and a free lunch. Additional sessions are given throughout the registration period before the beginning of the fall and spring semester.
