Steve Evans
Steve Evans has
served as Lee College Dean of Financial Services since1991. Under
his direction are the Business Office, Payroll, Human Resources Department,
Purchasing and Special Accounting Projects, and Administrative Services. During his tenure, Evans
has supervised the implementation of two fully integrated administrative
and financial software systems, Bi-Tech and PeopleSoft.
Evans took the
helm as Interim President for Lee College from January 1, 2002 until
July 31, 2002. During that time he oversaw the continuation of a
massive construction and campus beautification project that has resulted
in two new facilities--an Athletic and Wellness Complex and a Technology
Center/Library. While president, he led the college in the budget
planning process; served on the Texas Increment Reinvestment Zone
(TIRZ) Committee for economic development in the I-10 corridor of
Baytown; was a member the Economic Development Foundation; maintained
excellent Board of Regent relations; and was a prominent leader in
the presidential search process.
Prior to joining
Lee College, Evans worked 6 1/2 years as controller at Howard College
in Big Spring. He participated in and graduated from the Leadership
Big Spring program.
Evans earned
his bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from
Angelo State University where he made the Dean's List. He earned
an associate degree from Howard College where he also served as student
government president and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the
national junior college honor society.
