Donnetta Suchon Ph.D.
Dr.
Donnetta Suchon has served since Spring 1992 as Dean of Academic
Studies at Lee College. Initiatives she has pursued at Lee College
include creation of equitable systems for faculty workloads, athletics
and other areas; improved articulation among high schools, community
colleges and other colleges and universities; and increasing the
availability of innovative instruction, such as distance learning,
self-paced methods, advanced placement, and weekend mall classes.
Before
coming to Lee College, Dr. Suchon worked 12 1/2 years with the Daytona
Beach Community College System in Florida. Positions she held there
ranged from instructor and publications advisor, to department chairperson,
to dean, to associate vice president. She directed student activities
at Odessa (Tx.) College, was the Educational Services Coordinator
for the National Association of Campus Activities (S.C.), and has
taught for the University of Central Florida, Midlands (S.C.) Technical
College, and the University of South Carolina.
Dr.
Suchon earned her bachelor of science degree in secondary education
from Kansas State University, her master of arts degree in journalism
and communications from the University of Florida, and her doctorate
in college student personnel administration from the University of
Northern Colorado. |
