Lee College Foundation

Lee College Foundation was founded in 1968. The Foundation is a non-profit entity that raises external funds to support Lee College students and to promote college initiatives. The Foundation’s Board of Directors manages the endowment, which provides over 200 scholarships and other types of financial support to students from the interest earned each year.

Students who wish to apply for a Foundation scholarship may go to the Lee College website and click on the STARS Online link found on the front page.  Students will be considered for all scholarships for which they qualify, including those with special selection criteria. Only one application per student is necessary.  Foundation Scholarships are $500 per semester, and students must enroll in at least nine credit hours each term to receive the award. The application deadline for scholarships is normally in early spring, and the specific date will be posted on the Lee College website.

Institutional scholarships are available in various areas of the College including athletics, academic studies, technical and applied science, and fine arts. Students interested in such scholarships should contact their instructors and/or the Financial Aid Office.

Ways to Give
Gifts you make to Lee College Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by current tax laws. The Foundation has 501(C)(3) tax-exempt status. Every gift from you is promptly acknowledged with a letter of appreciation which you may use for tax purposes.

A gift may be designated or it may be made unrestricted. Unrestricted gifts may be used where the need is greatest. A gift that is designated for a particular program, department, campaign, project, or scholarship will be applied only to the area specified by the donor.

Matching Gifts
The company for which you or your spouse work may have a matching gifts program. The Foundation qualifies for most matching gifts programs. Taking advantage of this option through your company’s human resources office may allow you to double or even triple the impact of your gifts to Lee College.

Bequests
One of the simplest ways to give is through your estate. You can make a gift bequest in your will to the Lee College Foundation for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or for the remainder of your estate after you have provided for others.

The Gala
The Lee College Foundation’s primary fundraiser is its annual Gala held each fall.  Guests enjoy dinner and an auction. Sponsorships and tickets are available through the Foundation office.
