Enroll in a college course and receive course credit for both your college degree and
your high school diploma at the same time!
Find out how to Dual Enroll today!

Dual Credit is process by which a high school student enrolls in a college course and receives simultaneous academic credit for the course from both the college and the high school.  It is designed for high school juniors and seniors who may be eligible to earn college credit while they are still in high school.  As with all students in college level courses, high school students must satisfy TSI requirements and/or prerequisite requirements for the college level courses.

Freshmen and sophomores are eligible for dual enrollment with demonstrated academic performance and capability.  This may include high grade-point averages, PSAT scores, or other assessment indicators.  This group’s enrollment in dual enrollment may be approved by the principal and the chief academic officer of the college.

In general, high school students should not be enrolled in more than two courses per semester. Exceptions to this requirement can be made for students with outstanding academic performance and may be approved by the high school principal and the chief academic officer.

The rules of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board which governs the dual enrollment processes can be found online at http://www.thecb.state.tx.us.
