Gala raises $120,000 for students

For the first time in its 45-year history, the annual Lee College Foundation Gala has raised $120,000 for scholarships and student support services.

“Words cannot express how grateful we are for the community’s tremendous support of the Foundation,” said Pam Warford, executive director of the Lee College Foundation. “This year’s gala was our best event to date, and broke records in both fundraising and attendance.”

More than 250 friends and benefactors attended the Sept. 21 event.

“I know that I speak for all our Foundation Board members when I say that I am proud to be a part of this community,” she added. “The fact that, even in these difficult economic times, so many came forward to help our students is a testament to the character of our home.”

Established in 1968, the Lee College Foundation is a non-profit entity dedicated to providing for the needs of students through scholarships and other types of student support. Under the direction of its Board of Directors, the Foundation will award $265,000 in scholarships to students this year.
