X. Assignments and Work Schedules
A. Professional Personnel
Non-teaching professional personnel
shall work at least 40 hours
per week during a seven- (7) day period. Professional personnel, who
are exempt from
provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, are not eligible for over-time
pay or
compensatory time off in lieu of overtime pay.
B. Faculty
Assignment of District instructors shall conform
to the standards of the College Delegate assembly of the Commission
of Colleges of the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools.
Nine-month faculty personnel are employed for 180 working
days. The instructional
class schedule and the College Bulletin will govern faculty personnel.
Instructors are expected to maintain scheduled office
hours during which they will be
available to students for consultation. A minimum of 35 clock hours
per week shall be
scheduled on campus exclusive of overload instruction.
C. Classified Personnel
Classified (non-exempt) personnel
shall work 40 hours per week
during a seven- (7) day period. Computations for payroll purposes are
made on the basis
of 2,080 working hours per year.
The Board may make exceptions to the minimum length
of the workweek and the
maximum length of a workday in order to achieve and maintain operational
efficiency at
the college or any of its offices, departments, or divisions provided
that no full-time
salaried employee may be authorized to work fewer than 40 hours in
a calendar week by
reason of action taken pursuant to this provision.
D. Payroll Check Distribution
Payroll checks will be distributed
on the fifteenth or the last
working day prior to the fifteenth of the month, and the last working
day of the month.
