Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles
Lee College Mission
The primary purpose of Lee College is to provide quality instruction
for its students. Through a variety of programs and services, Lee College
prepares students for success in higher education or employment. Lee
College also provides a broad-based program of extension courses, distance
education, adult education, continuing education and community service.
Vision
Our vision is to create a highly innovative technology environment where
students, faculty and staff have access to the information resources
and provide a state of the art network infrastructure that supports the
institution mission, vision and goals.
Principles
Guiding the institution toward the realization of its mission is an
underlying set of goals upon which programs and services are designed
and evaluated. Thus, the use of communications and information
technologies will incorporate these seven principles:
- Provide information technology planning, development and
leadership by keeping abreast of new technologies and
identifying those that will benefit the college both directly and
indirectly.
- Provide support services that enables students to succeed which
is the main guiding principle at the center of all Lee College
endeavors and its realization will be pursued as a collaborative effort
among all academic areas of the college.
- Utilize information technology in creative and “best
practices” ways to enhance and maximize the creation
and delivery of instructional resources by empowering faculty and student
excellence.
- Continuously assess the value, effectiveness and currency of
its support services with a view toward continual renewal and improvement.
- A fiscal responsible budgeting and funding strategy
is incorporated to ensure a continuous and stable funding base
commensurate with the central role of technology in the college’s
priorities.
- Maintain a well-trained and professional staff by providing appropriate professional
growth and educational opportunities and interaction
with other IT professionals.
- Continually evaluate services to
ensure that resources are allocated in accordance with the college's
priorities in an effective and efficient manner
