Most databases provide persistent links — that is, links that do not change over time — to their records. Each has a different method for doing this; if you need assistance discovering the means for a particular database, contact the Library's Reference Desk at x6584.
In order provide access off campus to these articles, not only do you need the persistent link provided by the database, you need to “prepend” this string to the front of the URL:
http://leonardo.lee.edu/login?url=
Using this permits students to log in using their MyLC info and faculty with their computer login info.
Find the article that you want to include on your reading list.
Click on the article title to bring up its unique record.
Locate the Persistent Link to this record (Permalink): near the bottom of the page.
Highlight and copy the URL. Paste it in a convenient location. (Notepad works well for this.)
The url will look something like this:
http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=a9h&AN=45459107&site=ehost-live
Prepend the following code immediately before the http:// of the record's URL
http://leonardo.lee.edu/login?url=
the final URL will look something like this:
http://leonardo.lee.edu/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=a9h&AN=45459107&site=ehost-live
