The Agribusiness program is designed to prepare individuals for careers in the agribusiness segment of the agricultural industry.  It provides an understanding of basic business concepts and principles as they relate to the agricultural industry.

Students will learn the principles of organization and management in agricultural businesses and the application of these principles in agricultural production.  Students will also learn the basic principles of our economic system and government policies and programs relating to agriculture.

Agribusiness curriculum integrates business, marketing, and economic principles applicable to agribusiness and related industries.  The agribusiness major helps prepare students for employment in commercial agriculture and businesses serving agriculture. Students may go on to pursue careers in crop or animal production, food, horticulture, or general agricultural business.

Students completing the Associate of Science in Agriculture complete basic core requirements as well as basic courses in economics and accounting.  Students completing the program will:

  • be familiar with technology applications in the workplace;
  • be prepared to be employed in entry-level positions in agribusiness; and
  • be prepared to transfer into a baccalaureate program of study in agriculture.
