Instrumental Ensembles

The Baytown Community Band-in-Residence at Lee College combines the talents of music and non-music major college students, community musicians and professionals in the music education field. The band rehearses weekly on Monday evenings. Major band repertoire as well as solo, novelty and general crowd pleasers make each concert experience a joy. Credit students may audition for the TMEA All-State Honor Band. Non-credit students may enroll through Continuing Education, contact www.lee.edu/ce or phone 281-425-6311.

The Baytown Symphony Orchestra-in-Residence at Lee College performs seven standard, contemporary, and popular repertory concerts a season, rehearsing weekly on Tuesday evenings. The orchestra features young artist professionals as soloists and provides the community with a college/professional level performance of orchestral favorites, seasonal programs, educational/children's programs, and pops/commercial venues. The Lee College Jazz Ensemble performs "big band" music of the last 60 years as well as the most current popular tunes of the day. The group prepares for two major contests a year and performs at the college and for local community events. Special programs and events usually highlight area jazz specialists and well-known soloists. The group emphasis is on improvisation and creativity. Vocal Ensembles

The Lee College Concert Choir is open to all Lee College students. Performances of varied choral literature occur on campus and off. Annual participation in the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate Choral Festival allows interaction with other area choirs. Members may audition for the Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir. The All-State Choir performs at the TMEA Convention in San Antonio. Concert Choir is a credit course.

The Lee College Madrigal of 8-10 selected voices perform a cappella choral literature, primarily from the 16th and 17th centuries. This is a credit course.

The Baytown Community Chorus in residence at Lee College combines the talents of music and non-music majors and community singers rehearsing weekly on monday evenings. The ensemble performs four programs per session including a seasonal holiday special and a spring variety/musical presentation.
