[Speaker 4] (0:00 - 0:42) I am so confused. I am so confused with what I have said yes to and what I have not said yes to. And I think I've got it on my... Yeah, I just... Well, in some things, I was gone last week, so I didn't have time to... Like I said, I like my paper calendar. And I needed to check that, because that's where I keep my work schedule, too. I have a paper one, but I also have everything in my file. Well, and I don't usually put everything in there, but I do when they get the invites and stuff like that. But I probably should update more. But yeah, I mean... Oh, there's a lot going on. [Speaker 7] (0:42 - 0:44) What's going on with your phone? [Speaker 4] (0:48 - 0:57) It's not the best cover, because I don't know if it's that strong. But my other one deteriorated after a long time, and so I just bought another one. And I need a new cover. [Speaker 10] (0:58 - 1:02) I always have bad...my camera is... [Speaker 4] (1:03 - 1:13) Well, I'm not going to say need. It works. I need to be careful. I don't need... I have everything that I need in this world. [Speaker 7] (1:14 - 1:14) I know. [Speaker 11] (1:14 - 1:21) Should it be turned a little bit or not? It's perfect for me. But you've got another one. [Speaker 4] (1:33 - 1:37) Gina, I think you need to raise your chair up a little bit. I'm having a hard time seeing you. [Speaker 7] (1:38 - 1:39) Where are you? Gina! [Speaker 4] (1:54 - 2:03) Take the air up a little bit. Y'all did a great job. Thank you. I know. It's beautiful. It's beautiful. [Speaker 7] (2:03 - 2:05) Very, very pretty. Thank you. [Speaker 4] (2:05 - 2:14) Run quick before anyone stops you one more time. Go. Ignore him. Just ignore him. [Speaker 10] (2:14 - 2:15) Who? [Speaker 4] (2:15 - 2:25) No, ignore him. He was just... He was just messing with you. Go. I told you to run. [Speaker 7] (2:32 - 2:43) Stop it. My time is wrong. It says 3.58. Oh, you're on your computer? I'm on my computer. [Speaker 4] (2:44 - 2:51) Where? Computer must be on California time. [Speaker 1] (2:55 - 3:15) All right. We're top of the ninth. I'm having trouble. Three to one. So, we could... It's three nothing until... Yeah, they got two men on and one in sport. [Speaker 10] (3:18 - 3:19) Oh. [Speaker 4] (3:31 - 3:36) But they've done the foundation breakfast and lunch? Or is it... [Speaker 7] (3:36 - 3:40) Because usually it's two. Well, it was for two years, I think. [Speaker 4] (3:42 - 4:05) Yeah, and I've usually been invited to the afternoon. I haven't RSVP'd yet because I just don't know what my work schedule... I mean, I make my own schedule, but... Y'all have scholarships, though? I don't have... We don't... Yeah. Our family doesn't have a scholarship. But my mother wants to, and I need to keep telling her I'm going to figure it out. She wants to endow a scholarship. [Speaker 1] (4:05 - 4:06) Who are they playing with? [Speaker 4] (4:06 - 4:07) In Dad's memory. [Speaker 1] (4:07 - 4:07) Oh, the Mets. [Speaker 10] (4:17 - 4:17) Right. [Speaker 4] (4:17 - 4:21) But my mom has talked to me before about endowing a scholarship. [Speaker 7] (4:21 - 4:21) Yeah. [Speaker 4] (4:21 - 4:23) So, she would like to do that. [Speaker 7] (4:24 - 4:29) So, I need to get with you. Y'all need to do it in her name and your dad's name because... But, you know, it's a joint. [Speaker 4] (4:29 - 4:29) Yeah. [Speaker 7] (4:29 - 4:32) A joint. Well, my mom is... [Speaker 4] (4:33 - 4:43) I don't want any attention on her. What does she need to do? Call Stella. Stella in the pink. [Speaker 7] (4:47 - 4:48) Or she can call me. [Speaker 4] (4:49 - 4:51) Yeah, and it might be my brother that... [Speaker 1] (4:59 - 5:07) I don't know, but I have requested a box to put our stuff in. That's the one thing I missed. We don't have that. [Speaker 7] (5:07 - 5:08) I know. We don't have a little cubby. [Speaker 1] (5:08 - 5:09) Phillip's on it. He's going to... [Speaker 7] (5:09 - 5:09) Yeah. [Speaker 1] (5:09 - 5:45) Yeah. A little something. Okay. Okay. It is 6 o'clock. We have a quorum. And, for the record, Gilbert, Regent Gilbert Santana, is absent. All others are present. And we have a quorum. So, we'll begin with our invocation and pledge to the flag led by Regent Pam Warford. [Speaker 7] (5:49 - 6:59) Pray with me, please. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your love, your immense love for us, for your grace and your mercy that you shower on us every single day. Thank you for this college and what it means to the community. Lord, we want to make wise decisions and we would ask you to guide us in those decisions, direction that you would have us take this college. We thank you for the administration that is here, that we're fortunate to have, for the faculty, the staff, and what they mean to each and every student across the threshold. We thank you for all these things in your holy name. And if you'd join me in the United States flags. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. And the Texas flag. Honor the Texas flag. I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible. [Speaker 1] (7:08 - 7:54) Okay, first on the agenda is our student spotlight. And, you know, normally we're being presented to, but tonight is special. We're presenting to you guys. We just wanted to have you guys here to thank you for a wonderful season. And thank you, Coach Wade, for attracting the tournament here. It was quite an honor to get to host the tournament. We've heard from the Chamber of Commerce that it was at minimum a $500,000 impact to the community. So, very good. Looking forward to that. And just, you know, just want to say thank you very much for a great, another great, exciting, thrilling year. [Speaker 2] (7:56 - 10:35) So, so I just like to add to those comments. I'm so very proud of our coaching staff, Coach Wade, and to all the players, because it was just amazing, amazing experience if you were able to go. But our players, you guys just played your hearts out. And it was just so incredible to see you on the court and to see, you know, your, over the year, what I have seen is that you guys have grown tremendously. And that to me, in and of itself, was just amazing. And so, and it made me so proud to be there with you. This was our very first time to host the Region 14 Basketball Tournament in the college's history. We get to do this one more year next year. And it's going to be exciting once again. And I've already been like whispering to some of the folks in Region 14 that we need to host this even more. So, there was always some concern about people coming from, you know, other areas. But they came. They loved our facilities. They loved our hotels. And our amenities. And we were proud to host them. And I will say that I spoke with a lot of people from community members to employees to people from Region 14. And to people I just had no, you know, I just didn't know at all. And every single person spoke about what a positive experience they had here in Baytown and at the conference. Everyone said, your facilities are just the most amazing. We don't, no one has an arena like this. And so, we were like, we know, we know. So, that was great. But they also mentioned just how hospitable we were. And that, now I know you guys debriefed and I'm sure you saw different things. But from our perspective, things went pretty much just seamlessly. So, I'm so grateful. It takes a huge team, though, to put together such a large event. So, from our coaching staff to facilities to marketing and public affairs, custodial, our staff at Cafe 34. And then there were a ton of just individual volunteers, employees at the college who gave up their spring break to work this tournament. And I'm just incredibly proud and grateful to each and every one. I wanted to see if there are any other board members who might want to offer a comment before we invite our special guest to the podium. [Speaker 11] (10:35 - 10:36) What? [Speaker 9] (10:49 - 10:51) Does this work when I push the button? No, no, no. [Speaker 10] (10:51 - 10:51) You're on. [Speaker 9] (10:52 - 12:12) Okay. Guys, this is all new to us. So, we're kind of excited with our new. I'm going to stand up to honor you guys. You know, I didn't grow up a basketball guy. I just learned what an and one was last year, you know. But I just wanted to say a part. I know you didn't win every game, but every one that I came to was exciting. And, I mean, it was very entertaining. But more than that, I saw you guys grow, represent the college in such a positive manner, and I appreciate it. There's a lot of people that work together to enhance the reputation of Lee College. You've done a fantastic job. I think every one of you contributed. I know it's a lot of hard work and practice, and your coach is such an easygoing guy that, you know. So, I know it's been difficult, but I saw growth through the year, this year, as the team played from my limited, very limited knowledge of basketball. And I just want to say thank you for what you contributed to this community, to this college. And I had a great time at every game, every game. So, hands off, hats off to you, except we don't have hats. But I'll give you another round of applause. And I wanted to stand up and address you to honor you guys. [Speaker 8] (12:15 - 13:10) Yeah, I just want to say I'm born and raised here, and I am a huge sports fan. And growing up here and knowing what it was like many, many years ago, Lee College basketball was almost the center of what happened in this town. And for it to come back full circle, since Coach Wade, you've gotten here, and the teams that you have put together since your arrival is demonstrating exactly what this community is all about. Seeing you guys, I don't care win or lose, what you reflect on the court, the way you guys, the camaraderie. And, of course, the animation of your coach is always entertaining. But I just appreciate the commitment that you have. You could have chosen to go anywhere, and you chose Lee College. And we thank you so much. Thank you for everything you've done. You guys still have another year, because there was only one sophomore. And so, we are excited about what the future holds for you. Thank you so much. [Speaker 7] (13:10 - 13:36) So, I wanted to say that Dr. Villanueva sets the stage for us to achieve excellence here at Lee College. And you certainly showed us that. And you showed everybody else that has heard about what happened here, and the tournament, and how well you played, that we are an excellent college, and we want everybody to know it. So, thank you again. [Speaker 8] (13:39 - 14:31) Oh, if I can also just add, I'm sorry. The city of Baytown, and I'm sure maybe Coach Wade, someone knows. The city of Baytown has a community development block grant, where they contribute funds for any type of community event that puts heads in beds. So, what I just heard you say was the Chamber of Commerce said that's exactly what the college did. So, we need to apply, because there's funding. It's only designed, it can only be used for things that attract heads in beds to the hotels. And that could help take care of hospitality and anything else, marketing, what's needed. And it's open for anyone. And so, we would qualify. We just need to apply. So, planting that seed for next time. And future times, as we do it in the future. Thank you. [Speaker 1] (14:33 - 14:36) Okay, so now I think we have a presentation to make. [Speaker 2] (14:37 - 14:57) Well, I was going to invite Coach Wade up, and if he wants to introduce players or say anything, you're up. But I know your voice is pretty loud that we may not need it. [Speaker 5] (14:57 - 16:54) Post-season now, I've turned it off. I've turned it off now. But thank you guys so much. I think you're absolutely right. Dr. V does set the table, but you guys do, too. Because it takes faith and pouring in to even have a chance to compete at the highest levels. And that's what we're able to do. Again, thanks to everybody. I think we mentioned it, but not only the student workers, everybody, security, finance department, everybody. They really, really just really, you know, did everything they could to make this just a first-class event. You guys may not be aware. The National Junior College Tournament's going on right now. We made it to the semifinals and lost to Trinity Valley. And the other two teams were Angelina and Panola. Those three teams made it to the Elite Eight, and two of them are playing against each other to go to the National Championship. So I say that to say we're in the best conference in the country, too, and right there. So our guys have a ton to be proud about. I don't normally get to do this. I want to thank my coaches. Guys, without you, I'm nothing. We know what goes on behind closed doors and everything we have to do to, you know, keep it running. And you did a great job. And again, just thank you guys for having us. I do want to ask one favor, though. Our volleyball coaches this offseason have been working tremendously. It's rejuvenated everything. It's more competitive. These two young women are incredible. Please come out and show your support for them next year, because I'm telling you, it is about to flip in a major way. We know what our standard is and what's expected. And I'm just so happy to just be a part, obviously, of the community that I grew up in as well, but the school and everything else. So I just want to thank you guys one more time. Thank you. So is it is it best for me just to call them up one by one or what's the best way? [Speaker 2] (16:54 - 16:55) Whatever you want. [Speaker 5] (16:55 - 18:37) OK, good. First, we have our from finish. His name is Georgios Georgios. Yeah, just stand up. Next, Bryson Elmore here from Baytown, Texas. Jane Thomas from Austin, Texas. Hunter Keller from London, England. Jordan Comanche, Monroe, Louisiana. Jakari Westbrook, Dallas, Texas. It's a quarry and loss in New Orleans, Louisiana. Matt Nyakundi from Houston, Texas. Jade McPherson from London, England. Atlanta on when. Where do we say you're from? Because it changes. It changes. Shamir Green, Albany, New York. Daniel Williams, Beaumont, Texas. Mama Duquesne from Senegal. Larry Curry from Baytown, Texas. And then both of my assistant coaches, Casey Petri, Mandeville, Louisiana. And Josh Ivory from Alexandria, Louisiana. Thank you all. [Speaker 2] (18:38 - 18:58) Hold on. We want to take a pic with you and. I'd like for the whole board to be in a picture with. [Speaker 1] (19:00 - 19:01) About the certificates. [Speaker 7] (22:06 - 22:10) I extended the deadline for that League of Women Voters. [Speaker 1] (22:10 - 22:13) Oh, did they? I don't know. What was the original? Tomorrow. [Speaker 7] (22:13 - 22:15) It was yesterday at midnight. Oh. [Speaker 11] (22:18 - 22:24) I did that. You want it on? We don't know who had done it. [Speaker 7] (22:24 - 22:28) But it's for everybody. Yeah. I mean, not just us. [Speaker 1] (22:28 - 22:32) No. Right. Oh, yeah. It's Harris County. Yeah. [Speaker 7] (22:33 - 22:33) Yeah. [Speaker 1] (22:34 - 22:40) Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's another reason. We were not necessarily the whole. [Speaker 7] (22:40 - 22:42) No. No, not at all. [Speaker 1] (22:42 - 22:46) Gotcha. Gotcha. Yeah. I didn't think about that. It's Harris County. [Speaker 7] (22:46 - 22:49) So there's a lot of people that it went to. [Speaker 1] (22:49 - 22:51) Whoever's running. Right. You're right. [Speaker 4] (22:55 - 22:58) I like these. I just. I just realized my hands were down here. [Speaker 7] (22:58 - 23:07) I like that. Okay. That works. That's another reason. I didn't feel like it was that important. Yeah. First county doesn't really care. [Speaker 1] (23:08 - 23:08) No. [Speaker 4] (23:10 - 23:13) Okay. Thank you. Thank you. [Speaker 1] (23:13 - 23:14) Thanks a lot, guys. [Speaker 4] (23:14 - 23:22) Finish strong this year. Finish your schools year strong. Thank you. From Beaumont. [Speaker 7] (23:23 - 23:24) Cracking a smile. [Speaker 4] (23:25 - 23:33) Yeah. I guess they're taught to be. But he was that kid from Beaumont was super sweet. [Speaker 1] (23:39 - 24:17) Okay. next up on the agenda is the disposition of minutes and we've got a bunch of them let me read these off before we entertain a motion but special virtual board meeting February 5th, special board meeting tour February 13th, special board meeting February 13th, audit and investment committee meeting February 13th, building committee meeting February 19th, policy committee meeting February 20th, special board meeting February 21st, board meeting February 25th. I will entertain a motion to approve all of these minutes. [Speaker 12] (24:18 - 24:19) Second. [Speaker 1] (24:19 - 26:02) I have a motion by Regent Cotton and a second by Regent Gerald's. Are there any corrections to the minutes? Hearing none all in favor of approving the minutes as submitted say aye. Any opposed? Report of the chairman. Several of us had the honor to attend a leadership conference last week and good information always good to get together with with trustees and regents from around the country. I can go around the table and we can share takeaways I I came away with we have a highly functioning board okay we have a highly functioning board let me simply say that because when you hear from some of the colleges around the country and some of the issues they have one college shared that they had a member who had been censured 15 times and the board chair no longer calls on that person during the meetings they can still vote but I thought wow we've got a pretty good functioning board if that's what some people are facing so we can go around Regent Guillory you have anything share from the several things policy related [Speaker 8] (26:02 - 26:07) came out of that discussion which we will be passing on so we can have them on a future agenda. [Speaker 9] (26:09 - 26:59) Regent Hall. Same it was it was a it was an opportunity to share more in a casual atmosphere with other board members where they can ask questions and you can ask questions or so have been several ideas that have come out of these meetings that we've been at over the last few months about greater student involvement we've been encouraged to have younger board members and all types of things but overall I think it's it it greatly enhances my perspective in our perspective as board members to see what other folks deal with it how they deal with it and and I agree with the chair chairman that we have a pretty highly functioning board hearing some of the horror stories that do go on across the country so we are blessed here at Lee college we are [Speaker 11] (26:59 - 27:19) blessed thank you yeah I would agree a very high functioning board and also a functioning college they each each college for those two days shared experiences and ups and downs and we didn't have a lot to share because we're we're on the good side so it was all it was all very good and I appreciate the [Speaker 4] (27:19 - 27:36) opportunity to be able to attend again yeah I'll just second everything but if I would I might reserve my comments maybe for next meeting because I did take some notes down and so I'd like to kind of go back through those and kind of rehash some of my thinking and look at the agenda and then I will share back [Speaker 1] (27:36 - 28:17) next month if that's okay okay Regent Santana is not here but we did have a building committee meeting yesterday and then today we continued our tours and work ongoing work continues to go well I will say this is a wonderful refresh I know we have the ribbon-cutting next week but boy I love this room so this is great and moving on to the policy committee we were scheduled to meet this [Speaker 8] (28:17 - 28:37) week we only have one local policy that was on the agenda so out of respect for the faculty and the staffs time we're just gonna wait until next month well we will potentially have other policies that we can bring so we're not just using that time just for one so we'll meet again next month we will we are [Speaker 4] (28:37 - 28:45) scheduled to meet April 10th report of the president Thank You mr. [Speaker 2] (28:45 - 29:31) chairman I'd like to begin by welcoming mr. Jacob Atkin who is our newly hired CFO to Lee College and our team I think you said was it yesterday that you are drinking out of only just one fire hose at this point in time okay but it's a very big hose I get it I get it and but we know he's up to the task and so just welcome we are already enjoying our time with you so far and we look forward to our future with you on our team so with that I know that Amanda smokes that she would like a picture okay will you tell us how you want your picture I would but I will [Speaker 10] (29:31 - 30:26) do it for you okay moving from that very pleasant topic I want to share a [Speaker 2] (30:26 - 33:50) legislative update with you relating to our funding model House bill 8 they've so they've made some proposed changes in the legislature outlined in House bill 2010 and its companion Senate bill 1786 as you may already know this because this is a complex model but our funding model is primarily based around labor market outcomes specifically we are funded when our students earnings ten years after receiving their associates degree or certificate exceed the earnings of a high school graduate after ten years so currently the model allows for ten years time frame to achieve this goal it is now proposed to reduce the timeline to five years and to now compare cumulative earnings is that still right okay and instead of at the end of a five-year period so what does this specifically mean for Lee College I will tell you that you know this is concerning because approximately half of our students are transfer intending students and that and those are designed to finish a baccalaureate degree so you can imagine they get to start that five-year period at the end of completing their associates degree or their certificate but then they transfer and that clock is ticking right away it doesn't allow them to finish the back that baccalaureate degree so there will be no you know any time to demonstrate that that that extra amount of income after even before graduating possibly so that puts us at a big disadvantage so just five years is not enough time for our students to complete their their degrees and to demonstrate that criterion so because of this a number of two-year degrees are no longer being considered credentials of value which means we will not be funded for those programs we'll still receive credit for any of our students who transfer to a university and of course we are still in the legislative process nothing has passed yet and rulemaking will not occur until this summer and so I will continue to keep you updated but this you know I kind of you know Annette and I kind of talked about this last year that there would be changes and you know we're kind of seeing some of that but we're you know awaiting to find out you know what exactly this means but I would like to recognize in the car Regent Susan Moore-Fontenot hi from all of us she was she's not here physically because she was in Austin testifying in front of the Senate Committee on K through 6 education in support of Senate bill Senate Bill 1186 I keep forgetting the name of that one that's a 1786 so thank you for representing Lee College so well in that role and I'm told we did a great job the whole team anything you want to add on that Susan I don't know if you can hear me okay [Speaker 6] (33:50 - 36:05) because my connection is really bad but yes the testimony was well received we had the Commissioner of Education as part of the panel to testify we had a policy analyst from the Texas IRA Coordinating Board and we had Texas 2036 which provides data and gathers data to help with decision-making regarding any of the policies that the legislature there was a trust factor there where we have someone outside of our immediate group that brings and looks at data to help us help the legislators make their decisions but all in all today's testimony was well received by everyone and it the bill is still pending for on the Senate side it's my understanding that on the House side that it did pass earlier so this is of course an amended bill on the Senate side just a wonderful day to there were very few questions which is an indication that there's great support for continuation of funding Linda you did a wonderful job of explaining the minor tweaks and we knew that there would need to be tweaks because when you ask for 89 million dollars for additional funding just for this year and you've got to have create a sense of a sense of support or confidence on the part of the legislatures that we are utilizing funding are creating funding structures that they can fully support and sustain so today was a good day and I'm really pleased to see where we where we go next with seeing this bill actually pass thank you so much Regent Morfano that [Speaker 1] (36:05 - 36:33) concludes my report I'm supposed to say that wasn't moving into okay resignations and retirements mr. [Speaker 2] (36:33 - 36:45) chairman I have four to report Tyrone Smith academic advisor Chris Dowdy coordinator student engagement and recreation Paul chance faculty process technology and Ethan Arbuckle faculty [Speaker 1] (36:49 - 36:56) next up we have our financial report from Annette Ferguson our fabulous CFO [Speaker 2] (36:56 - 37:30) now executive vice president notice that big smile I just want to say I can [Speaker 1] (37:30 - 37:55) read that I like the new big screen I can read that how about now that sounds [Speaker 3] (37:55 - 42:40) good all right okay so it's hard to believe but we're halfway through the fiscal year as of the end of February cash is still strong then we've got about 31 million in reserves 10 million that's been set aside for different projects that we have going on as well as a little bit of lost revenue that could be allocated for future projects and then just our operating funds as well wishing in fees you are going to be very close to our budget right now we're at about 87% of our budget our summer is typically somewhere between 11 to 15 percent of our total year so right now we will be very close to hitting our tuition and fee budget state appropriations we did receive a payment during February of about a little over five million dollars and so we'll have one more payment that we will receive in June our taxes we're falling a little bit behind on our tax collection which we talked about last time I keep hitting that little button we we talked about that last time because we changed the budget after we adopted we changed the rate after we adopted the budget and so right now we're projecting that we're probably going to be a million to a million and a half behind our projections for taxes our revenue in lieu of tax is about 600,000 below what we had initially budgeted other revenue our interest is tracking right where it needs to be other revenue that's all timing issues and so I'm not necessarily concerned about that one yet restricted funds these are all of our state federal and private grants and in C for federal grants it's a we're have about 1.1 million that would be available to be pulled down as soon as it is authorized and so we will pull that money down budget versus year-to-date projected actual as I said for tuition and fees we're going to be very close state appropriations will ride on it district taxes we will probably be a little bit we will be a little bit below our budget on taxes and then other will be pretty much right on target our total projected net revenue right now we're projecting an operating surplus of 1.4 million dollars you can see total revenue we're projecting to come in under budget but on expense we are projecting to save a little over 2 million on expense that a million of that is coming from salaries and then the other 1.3 is coming from what we call other operating expense but that's basically the fast program I think we talked about how we set aside money for the fast program and so that's where that money is showing up when we look at our projected actual compared to our budget broken down by operating salary and debt we're pretty much right in line with our budget looking at monthly budget versus actual salaries are pretty much right online operating costs are a little bit low and debt service that's going to be a timing issue between when a payment was budgeted versus when it was paid year-to-date expense we're again we're tracking right in line with where we need to be and when you look at the percentages we're looking at salary being at about 98% keep in mind that we budget salaries at 95% of actual and so so we're down a little bit on that one operating costs 95% and then debt service will know exactly what that is so that is it unless y'all have any questions for me thank you very much [Speaker 2] (42:42 - 42:50) stop smiling Annette next up we have public comment no one signed up mr. [Speaker 1] (42:50 - 44:12) chairman thank you okay consent agenda consideration of new hires the administration recommends that the board approve the new hires as presented below I will not read the list do I have a motion on this item I mean I have a motion by Regent Warford and a second by Regent cotton any discussion on this item hearing none all in favor say aye aye any opposed okay into new business consideration of approval of the academic calendar for January to December 2027 the administration recommends that the board approve the academic calendar for the 2027 calendar year so I have a motion on this item I have a motion by Regent Guillory and a second by Regent Gerald's any discussion [Speaker 2] (44:12 - 44:39) on the calendar but I was going to just add that a number of people asked us if we would reconsider the length of spring break and add another week and I just said I don't think you guys would do that it was not in line with policy or you know the coordinating board so no no because it's it's just it's not good [Speaker 10] (44:39 - 44:54) for instruction I'll take it okay okay there's no further discussion all in [Speaker 1] (44:54 - 46:50) favor say aye aye any opposed next we have consideration to pay GCC ISD teacher stipends for the spring 2025 semester administration recommends that the board authorized the president or her designee to pay teacher stipends in the amount of one hundred thirty three thousand two hundred to goose Creek consolidated independent school district do I have a motion on this item I'm so amazed okay do I have a second I have a second by Regent more font no and I have a motion by Regent more font no and a second by Regent Guillory is there any discussion on this item hearing none all in favor say aye aye any opposed okay moving right along consideration of approval of election order amendment for the May 3rd 2025 regents election the administration recommends that the board approved the election order amendment as it relates to Chambers County for the May 3rd 2025 regents election do I have a motion on this item I'm a second I have a motion by Regent Warford and a second by Regent Gerald's is there any discussion on this item want to remind us to keep our [Speaker 8] (46:50 - 46:59) mics on yes sir it may not be a problem yeah what we're what this is doing is [Speaker 1] (46:59 - 47:10) changing the polling location right because the school wasn't available because I think we actually voted on this previously and we're amending something that we did previously just changing the location to a different [Speaker 2] (47:10 - 47:28) place so I think what regional region is talking about is that all of the board members are listed and I think that's just listing them and saying a quorum of those board members are present no then we're good okay any further [Speaker 1] (47:28 - 49:53) discussion on this item hearing none all in favor say aye aye any opposed and the next new business item we're going to hold until after executive session so at this time we're going to adjourn into executive session so the meeting of the Lee College Board of Regents on above listed date after proper posting and in accordance with chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code for the specific purposes provided will recess from open meeting to closed meeting no action will be taken while the board is recessed into executive session my page expired due to inactivities you folks watching on TV out there we're still here see how hard we work okay all right TV okay so closed meeting is adjourned we are reconvened in the open meeting and we go up we have consideration of college employee contracts let me read the agenda item the administration recommends that the board approve contracts for the academic year 2025 to 2026 for employees listed herein do I have a motion on this item don't move I have I believe Regent Hall was at you I have a motion by Regent Hall and who was my [Speaker 4] (49:53 - 49:59) second it was both of us it was a tie so just pick okay and a second by Regent [Speaker 1] (49:59 - 50:17) Gerald's any discussion on this item hearing none all in favor say aye aye any opposed now finally matters of concern for future agendas do we have any hearing none this meeting is adjourned
