Dual Enrollment Registration

Step 1:
The student meets with the high school counselor to decide which college classes are appropriate. The student and counselor will complete a Dual Enrollment Request Form. The student is responsible for getting his/her parent’s signature on the Dual Enrollment Request Form.

Step 2:
Students who have never taken Dual Enrollment or who have not taken a class in more than a year will need to complete an application for Lee College at www.applytexas.org.

Step 3:
Once an application is completed, Lee College will issue a student ID number, which will be sent to the email address used on the Apply Texas application. Students must use an ID number to complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA). The application and the Pre-Assessment Activity must be completed prior to testing.

Step 4:
Lee College will test students for college readiness using the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment. Students must pre-pay for these tests. Acceptable payment is a money order or check (NO CASH) made out to Lee College, with the Texas Driver’s License and phone number of the signing person.

Reading test: $10 (required for all dual credit)
Writing test: $10 (required for all dual credit)
Math test: $10 (required for college algebra)

  • Results are available immediately after testing.
  • Students who meet the course prerequisites will proceed to Step 5.
  • Students who do not meet the prerequisites may retest at Lee College. The retest cost is $15 per section. Contact the Lee College Testing Center at 281.425.6842 or 281.425.6262 to schedule an appointment.

Step 5:
All of the following must be submitted to the Lee College Admissions/Records Office:

  • Official High School Transcript (only if using SAT or ACT scores to be TSI exempted)
  • FERPA Release Form, complete with student, parent, and school official signatures
  • Proof of Meningitis Vaccination (if taking classes on the Lee College campus)

Step 6:
Register for courses. Once Steps 1 through 5 are completed, the Dual Enrollment Office will handle registration of students.

Step 7:
Online Payment — Students who do not pay by the payment deadline will be dropped from the class. Students should log into their Lee College account to make payment in full or to set up a payment plan. Payment plans can only be made online. The Business Office will only accept payment for the full fee amount. No phone payments are allowed.

Step 8:
Purchase textbooks — To view required textbooks, go to www.leecollegebooks.com. Scroll  towards bottom of page; select the applicable semester; enter the course and section number; view the required and/or suggested books.

Students must meet the Dual Enrollment eligibility requirements as outlined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Lee College Dual Enrollment guidelines to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program. Return all completed and signed forms to the Dual Enrollment office according to specified deadlines. Students cannot be tested and registered until the admissions process and pre-assessment activity is completed. Lee College is required to have all admission requirements on file for all Dual Credit students in order to comply with The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s audit process.

Dual Enrollment Tuition and Fees

Reduction of Fees for Dual Enrollment Students

  • Tuition is $100 per course per semester for dual enrollment classes.

Automatic Payment Plan

Students may elect to make installment payments through a credit/debit card or bank account. The following charges may apply:

  • $25 payment plan enrollment fee per semester (non-refundable)
  • $2 full payment processing fee (if paying entire amount online)
  • $30 fee if the payment is returned

Payment plans are only available online through the student’s myLC Campus account, under “account inquiry.” (For full instructions, visit www.lee.edu/leetv/view-balance-online/)

The Business Office will only accept payment for the full fee amount. No phone payments are allowed.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

High school dual enrollment students are not eligible for federal aid (Pell Grant), but may apply for state funds through TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid). Applications are available online at www.lee.edu under the forms section of the Financial Aid page.

Scholarships are available for Dual Credit students at www.lee.academicworks.com under the scholarship name “Dual Enrollment Student.”

Additional Information

Registration is handled through the Dual Enrollment Office once the Dual Enrollment Request Form is completed. If you delay registration until the deadline is near, classes may be full, and you might not be allowed to take the course. There is no late registration after the semester has started. Payment must be made prior to the deadline in order to secure a class or classes.

Students must sign the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Form with Lee College for the parent to have access to information such as grades, college account, transcripts, etc.

Students are required to use the myLC account, the online system utilized by Lee College to access billing information, grades, etc. It is the student’s responsibility to access the system and learn how to use it.

Lee College email is the official way to communicate online with instructors.
