What supplies do I need to shelter in place?

  • Non-perishable food and snacks

  • Manual can opener
  • Flashlight and extra batteries
  • First aid kit
  • Supply of prescription medications
  • Radio (battery-operated or hand-crank)
  • Food and water for pets
  • Cash
  • Books and games

What else do I need to do to prepare?

  • Charge all electronic devices and back-up batteries.
  • Fill your bathtub with water for flushing toilets and cleaning.
  • Turn your refrigerator to its lowest temperature setting.
  • Preserve cell phone battery life.
  • Stay away from low-hanging or downed power lines.
