A food supply of non-perishable items is available for all Lee College students, such as:

  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Boxed dinners
  • Microwave-ready meals
  • Pasta
  • Pasta sauce
  • Macaroni
  • Oatmeal
  • Granola
  • And much more!

A limited selection of personal care items and baby items is also available to students.

How to Shop at the Lee College Market

All students must check in at the front desk of the SRAC or with an SRAC staff member.

Students are allowed to shop twice per month and must adhere to the following limits:*

  • Protein — Limit of 4 items per week. This includes cans and packets of tuna, cans and packets of chicken, canned sausages, canned meat, etc.
  • Ready-to-Eat — Limit of 2 per week. This includes any microwaveable and or packaged meals including: mac & cheese cups, ramen noodles in microwaveable containers, microwaveable pasta dishes, Compleats meals, chicken and tuna salad kits, etc.
  • Ramen — Limit of 4 per week. This includes ramen noodles not in a microwaveable container or plastic dish.
  • Canned goods & other non-perishable items — Students are allowed to take what they need while respecting that multiple students utilize the pantry every week. This includes canned fruit, canned vegetables, peanut butter, canned soup, tomato sauce, uncooked noodles and any items that do not fall in the other categories.
  • Hygiene items — Students can pick up hygiene items once per month. Limit of 1 item per type. This includes soap, shampoo and conditioner, pads and tampons, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, razors and shaving cream, and cleaning products.
  • Items for children — Students can take items for their children (or young dependents) once per month. Limit of 1 item per type. This includes kids shampoo and soap, kid’s toothbrushes and toothpaste, baby food, diapers and wipes. A limited variety of baby formula is available upon request.
  • Grab & Go — Students are able to grab an item from the Grab & Go section once per day. This includes crackers, nuts, granola bars, and other snack items.

*Limits are subject to change based on availability. We do not guarantee that items will be in stock.

Food for Change Scholarship

Are you interested in receiving additional assistance with food through our Food for Change (FFC) program?

The Food for Change Scholarship program offers Lee College students an opportunity to receive fresh food items at Hearts and Hands of Baytown at no cost once per month.

Students may receive up to 60 pounds of food per visit, including produce, meat, dairy, and non-perishable food items.
