Head Coach Wade enters his 3rd season as head coach at Lee College after spending his first two years as head coach at Angelina College. In Wade’s two seasons as head coach for the Roadrunners, the Roadrunners qualified for the conference tournament, advancing to the semifinals in 2016-2017 (18-14) and winning the Region XIV tournament championship (24-9) and an automatic bid to the national tournament in Hutchison, Kansas. Covid cut the season short and Angelina College cancelled all sport seasons the following year. In his 2 years at Angelina coach Wade had 2 NJCAA All Americans: Kevin Norman & Travis Henson, while also being named Region XIV South Zone Coach of the Year in back to back seasons.
In 2021 Coach Wade came back to his hometown of Baytown, Texas and took the helm as the head coach of Lee College. In his first two seasons Lee College has won the most games in school history and in 2022 won its first Region XIV regular season championship. In both seasons coach Wade has earned Region XIV South Zone coach of the year honors.
Before arriving at Angelina College, Coach Wade was an assistant coach at Conroe Oak Ridge High School from 2014-2016. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at McKinney Boyd High School and a volunteer coach at Lee College. During his three years at Lee College, the Runnin’ Rebels finished with the most wins in school history at the time and won the Region XIV conference championship in 2013, eventually advancing to the national tournament’s Sweet 16.
Coach Wade played collegiate basketball at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. In his senior season, Wade led the team in three-pointers made and three-point field goal percentage. In 2010, Austin College achieved its first 20-win season while winning the SCAC West Division Championship. In his coaching career, Coach Wade has coached more than 30 Division 1 athletes and five professional basketball players.
