April 16, 2013
Members Present: Bo Aguilar, Paul Allen, Paul Arrigo, Howard Bushart, Dana Byal, Rosemary Coffman, Stewart Edwards, Joseph Ganakos, Michael Gos, Graeme Cox for Karen Guthmiller, Vicky Hart, Charlotte Mueller, Angela Noack, Jim Richardson, Doylean Sprauve, Jeff Thies, Ingrid Wallace.
Members Absent: Layton Childress, Tia Hall, Rod Hellyer, Donnetta Suchon
Meeting was called to order at 2:30 p.m.
- Approval of Minutes: Minutes from March 19, 2013 were approved as written.
- Old Business: None
- New Business:
- Al Zucha proposed adding a table in PeopleSoft to present student learning outcomes. A motion to accept was made by Paul Arrigo and seconded by Stewart Edwards. Motion carried.
- Michael Gos proposed to include ENGL 2331, ENGL 2341 and ENGL 2351 in the Area of Concentration in the AA English degree. A motion to accept was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Charlotte Mueller. Motion carried.
- Howard Bushart proposed replacing ENGL 1302 with a SPCH core requirement in the AAS Physical Therapist Assistant degree plan. A motion to accept was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Dana Byal. Discussion followed. Joseph Ganakos made a motion to amend the original motion to delete the prerequisites for the SPCH course. Seconded by Paul Arrigo. Motion carried. The original amended motion was approved.
- Paul Arrigo made a motion to change the words “SPCH core” to read Oral Communication Core for the AAS Physical Therapist degree. Seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried.
- Howard Bushart proposed a total of 448 total contact hours for PTHA 1466. A motion to accept was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Stewart Edwards. Motion carried.
- Howard Bushart proposed to reflect 1 lecture and 3 lab hours for a total of 64 contact hours for PTHA 2201. A motion to accept was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Stewart Edwards. Motion carried.
- Michael Gos presented a consent agenda of Core 14 Curriculum. A motion to accept was made by Stewart Edwards and seconded by Charlotte Mueller. Motion carried.
- Charlotte Mueller proposed to discontinue MUSI 1308 and MUSI 1309. A motion to accept was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Paul Arrigo. Motion carried.
- Howard Bushart proposed a new course plan for the AAS degree in Physical Therapist Assistant that will have a minimum of 12 semester hours in all semesters. A motion to accept was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Paul Arrigo. Motion carried.
- Election of Officers:
- Joseph Ganakos nominated Michael Gos to continue as Chair. All further nominations closed by acclamation. Motion carried
- Stewart Edwards nominated Joseph Ganakos to continue as Vice Chair. All further nominations closed by acclamation. Motion carried.
