Fheryl Johnson Prestage is an accomplished leader in Information Technology, recognized for her innovative and solutions-oriented approach. With a passion for technology and a unique blend of objective and empathetic leadership, she has built a remarkable career spanning over 25 years in the IT industry.

Fheryl brings more than 15 years of executive-level management experience and 19 years in various consulting roles. Her career began with 8 years as a developer/programmer analyst and project manager, laying a solid foundation for her subsequent achievements.

She has extensive experience in developing, standardizing, managing, and transforming IT teams and project portfolios across diverse sectors, including Academia, Energy, Finance, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Healthcare. Fheryl is well-versed in organizational resource management, strategic planning, budget administration, system design, implementation, maintenance, and software system audits.

Recently, Ms. Prestage joined Lee College as the Interim Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, focusing on the strategic development and modernization of the college's technology systems and the alignment of its Information Technology department organizational structure. Prior to this role, she spent over 22 years at Houston Community College (HCC), where she progressed through multiple IT leadership positions, ultimately serving as Chief Information Officer. Her roles at HCC included Interim Vice Chancellor for IT, Associate Vice Chancellor of Core Information Services, and Director/Executive Director of IT Applications Development.

A respected professional in digital technology, Fheryl is known for her exceptional stakeholder relationship-building skills. She earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern University and A&M College.

Fheryl actively contributes to her community, co-chairing the HCC Foundation’s Black History Scholarship Committee and helping raise over $400,000 for student scholarships. Her professional affiliations include HoustonCIO, TACC-CIO, and Women In Technology, along with memberships in various civic organizations such as Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and the Fort Bend County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. She is a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Southern University Alumni, as well as a Charter Member of the Houston Chapter of CHUMS, Inc.
