Rigger / Signal Person Training
- Can I get CEU (Continuing Education Units/Credits) by taking this class?
Yes, CEU’s are provided with this course - Can I use my GI Bill to pay for this class?
No. These industrial training courses are not eligible for the use of GI Bill benefits; however, Continuing Education Credits are provided. - Can I get a job after taking this class?
This class definitely increases the likelihood of obtaining a job because upon successful completion, you will have demonstrated your ability to operate the equipment and secure a certificate indicating such. - Will I be certified after taking this class?
"Certification" is characterized differently in the world of Heavy Equipment Operators. Unless you're taking a course that requires a 3rd party "Certification" like Mobile Crane Operator in New Construction, you'll secure a Certification of Qualification with this course. - What do I learn from this class?
You will learn the basics of being a Rigger and Signal Person. The course will give you a good understanding of the discipline and upon successful completion of the qualification test, you’ll be able to perform the basic operation of both a Rigger and a Signal Person. - What are the advantages of taking this class?
You will set yourself up for success in the fields of Rigger and Signaling. These two functions are paramount for successful operations in the field of Crane and Lifting. These roles are sought after by companies who perform commercial lifting tasks and are in high demand. - What does the Rigger & Signal Person training cover?
This course teaches safe load rigging practices, hand and voice signaling, sling selection, and communication techniques according to OSHA 1926 Subpart CC and ASME B30 standards. - Who should attend this training?
Riggers, signal persons, crane crew members, supervisors, and anyone involved in lifting operations who needs to meet qualification or refresher requirements. - What do I receive after completing the training?
Participants receive Qualification Certificate demonstrating both theoretical and practical competence.
Equipment Operator Training
- What is included in the operator training program?
The course covers equipment controls, trenching techniques, load charts, safety around utilities, soil classification, and stability management — aligned with OSHA principles. - How is simulator training used in this course?
Participants practice operations on a realistic training simulator, handling different load scenarios, crane configurations, and weather conditions — without exposure to real-world risks. - Can I get qualified using the simulator?
Yes. Both the practical evaluation and qualification are conducted on the simulator, which follows OSHA and ASME performance criteria. - How realistic is the simulator experience?
The excavator simulators replicate real controls, bucket response, soil resistance, and job-site conditions for maximum realism and skill transfer. - Can I complete the qualification entirely on the simulator?
Yes. The simulator evaluation measures precision, safety behavior, and cycle efficiency according to recognized operator competency standards. - What does the simulator training include?
The program includes pre-operation inspection, load handling, stacking, and safe maneuvering in different environments using an operator training simulator. - Is simulator training OSHA compliant?
Yes. OSHA 1910.178 allows simulator-based evaluation as long as performance is measured against the same practical criteria used on real equipment. - What are the benefits of qualifying on a simulator?
Simulator qualification reduces risk, improves skill retention, and allows trainees to repeat scenarios such as tight-space maneuvers or load instability safely. - Am I a certified operator after taking this class?
A certificate of successful completion of testing is provided. Additionally, certificates of Simulator Proficiency are provided if acceptable skills are demonstrated on the training simulator. OSHA’s law of recognized certifications for Mobile Crane Operators in New Construction requires a separate test on an actual crane and we can facilitate this if requested by the trainee. Please advise course referrer of your need for the OSHA compliant 3rd party Certification request when scheduling your class. (The OSHA Compliant and ANSI Accredited Certification does require additional costs).
